Basketball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood and Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Edgewood had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers, falling 52-20. The Red Wolves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last nine times they've met.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy found their leader in freshman Kylie Green, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 19 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Green a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Samantha Fraser, who went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Edgewood will challenge Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
