Baseball Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Cleveland Rams

The South Garner Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Cleveland Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

South Garner is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Southeast Raleigh 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 25, 2024.

Henny Mejia was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Hunter Graham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

South Garner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cleveland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Garner 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won six matches in a row.

Henry Blackman and Caleb Lynn did most of the damage at the plate: Blackman got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Lynn went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brayden McArthur was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

South Garner's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Cleveland, their record now sits at 14-7.
