Softball Preview: South Lakes Seahawks vs. Dominion Titans        
        
		
            The South Lakes Seahawks will venture away from home to  take on the Dominion Titans  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Lakes has three straight  victories, Dominion has five straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, South Lakes got the win against Potomac Falls  by a conclusive  11-4. Considering the Seahawks have won three matches by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Meagan Maguire made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). Maguire was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Cassandra De La Cruz, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  doubles (two).  Sofia Ponce also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
 South Lakes  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least nine  hits in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Dominion scored the most  runs they've had  this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They lost  15-9 to Liberty.
 South Lakes' record is now 4-1. As for Dominion, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Everything went South Lakes' way against Dominion when the teams last played  on Tuesday, as South Lakes made off with  a  26-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Lakes since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
