Basketball Recap: Mattoon Takes a Loss

Mattoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Greenwave of the 59-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Mattoon now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mattoon will take on Marion in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahomet-Seymour and Urbana will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
