Football Recap: DeKalb Barons vs. Huntington North Vikings

The matchup between DeKalb and Huntington North on Friday hardly resembled the 21-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Barons enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over the Vikings. The Barons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeKalb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli McCormick, who threw for 256 yards and five touchdowns. Those five passing touchdowns gave McCormick a new career-high. Xavier Bell was McCormick's top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Jemison showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 66 yards. Wyatt Shearer also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

DeKalb pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Huntington North, their record now sits at 2-4.
