Football Recap: DeKalb Barons vs. Huntington North Vikings
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeKalb). They took down the Huntington North Vikings 42-28 on Friday. This was payback for the Barons, who suffered a 21-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

DeKalb got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli McCormick out in front who threw for 256 yards and five TDs. Those five passing touchdowns gave McCormick a new career-high. Xavier Bell also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.
DeKalb was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
DeKalb didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Drake Hall. Despite the loss, Huntington North still got an impressive performance from Christian Jemison, who rushed for 240 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Jemison was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Wyatt Shearer also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
DeKalb's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Huntington North, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
