Mount Vernon came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Sedro-Woolley Cubs. Mount Vernon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by three goals or more this season.

Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 9-2-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Sedro-Woolley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5-2.
