Basketball Recap: West Shore Takes Down Pineapple Cove Classical Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Shore walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 40-18 margin over the Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots on Tuesday. The Wildcats pushed the score to 36-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading West Shore to victory were Emily Marshall and Jalaya King. Marshall dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while King almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave King a new career-high. Tiffany Duong was another key player, putting up four points.

West Shore's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-11. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

West Shore will face off against Edgewood on Thursday. West Shore is facing Edgewood at the right time seeing as Edgewood is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
