Baseball Recap: Willard Comes Up Short

Willard fell victim to Vermilion and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Sailors. The Crimson Flashes haven't had much luck with the Sailors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Willard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Vermilion, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

Willard and Vermilion could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Crimson Flashes will take on Huron at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (595 vs. 226). Meanwhile, Vermilion (ranked 366th) will meet Edison (ranked 53rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
