Volleyball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Paul Laurence Dunbar

Franklin County faced Paul Laurence Dunbar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Flyers fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

While Franklin County had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 25-18, 25-21.

Franklin County's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they will face off against Henry Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
