Basketball Game Preview: Clear Brook Wolverines vs. Clear Creek Wildcats

Clear Brook and Clear Creek are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Clear Brook Wolverines will be playing at home against the Clear Creek Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Brook knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Clear Creek likes a good challenge.

Clear Brook will head into Thursday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Deer Park on Thursday. Clear Brook blew past Deer Park 57-36. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Deer are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clear Creek won against Deer Park last Friday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Clear Creek strolled past Clear Falls with points to spare, taking the game 54-40.

Clear Creek is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Clear Brook, they pushed their record up to 27-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
