Softball Recap: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Bozeman Bucks

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Liberty County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bozeman Bucks a 16-0 shutout. Liberty County's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kallan Mercer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched. Mercer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Mercer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a home run.

In other batting news, Liberty County got a massive performance out of Lauren Davis, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Caleigh Peddie, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.

On Bozeman's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison John, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and a double.

Liberty County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Bozeman, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
