Basketball Recap: Ringgold Comes Up Short

Ringgold was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 50-21 loss at the hands of the Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 122nd).

It was another big night for Samora Sampson, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds for Gibsland-Coleman. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sampson has scored at least a third of Gibsland-Coleman's points. Jordan Allen was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Gibsland-Coleman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ringgold has already played their next match (against Red River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gibsland-Coleman will challenge Summerfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
