Softball Recap: Central Bucks West Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Central Bucks West won against Central Bucks East on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Bucks beat the Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Taylor Sheplock and Taylor Hooven did most of the damage at the plate: Sheplock went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hooven went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Sheplock a new career-high. Katherine James was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Central Bucks West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.

Central Bucks West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Central Bucks West will head out on the road to challenge Pennridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, they will face off against Plymouth Whitemarsh at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Magic's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colonials have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
