Basketball Game Preview: Union Red Hawks vs. Kelloggsville Rockets

The Union Red Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Kelloggsville Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 3.

Last Friday, Union took a blow against Thornapple Kellogg, falling 58-27. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Trojans are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, Kelloggsville hadn't done well against Comstock Park recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kelloggsville pulled ahead with a 42-41 photo finish over Comstock Park.

Kelloggsville's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-15. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Everything came up roses for Union against Kelloggsville when the teams last played back in December of 2017, as the team secured a 61-31 victory. Will Union repeat their success, or does Kelloggsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
