Basketball Recap: Whitefield Academy Find Success

While Whitefield Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 67-66 victory over the Wesleyan Wolves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the WolfPack.

Whitefield Academy's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Houlder, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 23 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Houlder has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haley Holland, who went 6 of 12 en route to 12 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Whitefield Academy's record is now 6-3. As for Wesleyan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Whitefield Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-30 win against Paideia on the 13th. Wesleyan and Mill Creek will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th.
