Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Hope Pirates vs. Stockton Tigers

Pleasant Hope hasn't had much luck against Stockton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pleasant Hope Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Stockton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Pleasant Hope knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Stockton likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Pleasant Hope was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-55 to New Covenant Academy.

Meanwhile, Stockton didn't have too much trouble with Ash Grove on Friday as they won 47-28.

Pleasant Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Stockton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

Pleasant Hope beat Stockton 68-61 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pleasant Hope since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
