Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Notre Dame can now relate to. They fell just short of the Donovan Catholic Griffins by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Irish have lost by exactly two runs.

Notre Dame has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Donovan Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-11.

As of now, neither Notre Dame nor the Griffins have any future games scheduled.
