Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant vs. Freeland

The Mt. Pleasant Oilers will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Freeland Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Mt. Pleasant is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell just short of Traverse City Central by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant have struggled against Traverse City Central recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Freeland got the win against Nouvel Catholic Central on Thursday by a conclusive 4-1. That's two games straight that Freeland have won by exactly three goals.

Mt. Pleasant skirted past Freeland 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2016. Do the Oilers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
