Basketball Recap: HomeSchool Resource Center Comes Up Short

HomeSchool Resource Center lost against Kankakee Trinity Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots fell to Kankakee Trinity Academy 55-50.

Despite the loss, HomeSchool Resource Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noel Green dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Green is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Fisher, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, HomeSchool Resource Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Vinny Hendrix continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kankakee Trinity Academy, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hendrix a new career-high in steals (four). Cory Hathaway was another key player, putting up 14 points and six boards.

HomeSchool Resource Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Kankakee Trinity Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. HomeSchool Resource Center won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Plum Creek Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kankakee Trinity Academy has already played their next contest (against Westlake Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
