Soccer Recap: Southeast Raleigh Comes Up Short

Southeast Raleigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the Clayton Comets, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Southeast Raleigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Clayton are ranked 54th).

Southeast Raleigh's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Clayton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southeast Raleigh is set to square off against their familiar foe Smithfield-Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Clayton will challenge rival South Garner at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
