Baseball Game Preview: East Burke Cavaliers vs. St. Stephens Indians

The East Burke Cavaliers will head out to take on the St. Stephens Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Burke's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so St. Stephens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, East Burke didn't have quite enough to beat Newton-Conover and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Stephens). They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Statesville on Tuesday. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Stephens has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Burke, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
