Recap: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Centralia Panthers

The Chillicothe Hornets came tearing into Monday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Centralia by a score of 49-36. 49 seems to be a good number for Chillicothe as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Chillicothe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jolie Bonderer out in front who scored 12 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Bonderer posted eight or more assists. Kayanna Cranmer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Chillicothe's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Centralia, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chillicothe will take on Kauffman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chillicothe is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kauffman in Missouri (Chillicothe is ranked 11th, while Kauffman is ranked 461st). As for Centralia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Macon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centralia is facing Macon at the right time seeing as Macon is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
