Volleyball Game Preview: Max S. Hayes Lakers vs. Lincoln West Wolverines

The Max S. Hayes Lakers will head out on the road to challenge the Lincoln West Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Max S. Hayes has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Max S. Hayes' victory against Glenville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lakers had just enough and edged out the Tarblooders 3-2.

Max S. Hayes had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-13, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Lincoln West came up short against Bard Early College on Monday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Raptors: they've now lost six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-15.

Max S. Hayes' win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Lincoln West, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything went Max S. Hayes' way against Lincoln West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Max S. Hayes made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
