Baseball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

Kermit lost against Presidio back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Kermit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mauricio Perez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Perez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Kermit's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Presidio, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Kermit will welcome Alpine at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Presidio, they will venture away from home to face off against Anthony at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
