Baseball Recap: Montello Comes Up Short

Pardeeville hit Montello with a nine-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hilltoppers came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Montello and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Pardeeville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3-1.

Coming up, Montello will face off against Green Lake/Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pardeeville, they will challenge Horicon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Marshmen's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
