Softball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland lost against Marquette last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors came up short against the Crusaders, falling 21-4. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ella Derossett and Olivia Chismarick stepped up to the plate in a big way. Derossett scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Chismarick went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That run was Derossett's first of the season.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Marquette, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland will take on Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marquette, they will square off against Annawan-Wethersfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
