Baseball Recap: St. Paul/Palmer Wins Going Away Against Arlington

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Paul/Palmer walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Arlington Eagles with a sharp 10-3 victory on Thursday.

Braxton Heater spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of St. Paul/Palmer's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, St. Paul/Palmer saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zandyn Weller, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Weller a new career-high.

St. Paul/Palmer's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Arlington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

St. Paul/Palmer has already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Adams Central on the 9th. Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
