Soccer Recap: Vancleave's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Vancleave's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Laurel Golden Tornadoes a 1-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Vancleave's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Laurel, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vancleave will be home for the holidays to greet East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vancleave's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Laurel, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against North Forrest at 7:00 p.m.
