Football Recap: Rustburg Red Devils vs. Brookville Bees
Rustburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of the Brookville Bees. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bees apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Aiden Sax threw for 81 yards on 11 of 16 attempts. On the ground, Ari Reid rushed for 30 yards.
As for Brookville, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games.
Lincoln McDaniel was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 46 yards and one TD. Those 182 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Brookville's leading receiver Blake Thomas was McDaniel's top target yet again, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
