Baseball Recap: Horicon Victorious

Horicon posted their closest win since May 10, 2025 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Pardeeville Bulldogs 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Marshmen also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2017.

Barrett Meyer made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Meyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Berggren, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Ashton Muche also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Horicon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pardeeville, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4-1.

Horicon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Wayland Academy on the 4th. As for Pardeeville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Fall River on the 4th.
