Softball Game Preview: St. Croix Central Panthers vs. Ellsworth Panthers

For the second straight game, St. Croix Central will face off against Ellsworth. St. Croix Central will be playing at home against Ellsworth at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. St. Croix Central fell just short of Ellsworth by a score of 4-3. St. Croix Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Ellsworth's part, Pearl Shelley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Alivia Maher was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Ellsworth's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for St. Croix Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
