Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loyd Star). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Amite County Trojans a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Jordyn Kees, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Loyd Star: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kayne Case, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Loyd Star hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for Loyd Star and bumps their season record up to 9-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Amite County, their loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Loyd Star will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
