Basketball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Morristown-Hamblen East and Morristown-Hamblen West faced off in a cross-town battle on Monday. The Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes skirted past the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans 50-48. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Trojans are ranked 45th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morristown-Hamblen East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Hall led the charge by going 6-for-10 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. Hall continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmony Sullivan, who shot 40% from the field en route to 18 points and three steals.

Morristown-Hamblen East is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. Morristown-Hamblen West's loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
