Softball Recap: Clark Find Success

Clark proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 19) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Reagan Rattlers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Rattlers since April 6, 2021.

Madyson Martinez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayla Woods, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Clark is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Reagan's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Clark will take on rival Johnson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Reagan is set to face off against their familiar foe SA Roosevelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
