Basketball Recap: Milford Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Bethany Mateo and Madison Moyer

After a string of three wins, Milford Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Granite Baptist Academy Guardians by a score of 42-39. The Conquerors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Guardians earlier this season, when they won 58-50.

Despite the loss, Milford Christian had strong showings from Madison Moyer, who went 10-for-25 en route to 24 points, and Bethany Mateo, who almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, 14 rebounds, and 12 steals. Mateo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season.

Milford Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Granite Baptist Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Milford Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-49 victory against Calvary Baptist on the 1st. Granite Baptist Academy has also already played their next game (against Milford Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
