Baseball Game Preview: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars

The Greenwood Woodmen will head out to take on the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenwood is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Greenwood's last matchup with Mooresville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Woodmen came up short against the Pioneers, falling 10-2. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Woodmen, who fell 2-0 when the teams last met back in May of 2024.

Greenwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan King, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Nicholas Pruett, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Greenwood Christian Academy's offense. They lost 8-0 to Pike on Tuesday.

Greenwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Greenwood skirted past Greenwood Christian Academy 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Woodmen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
