Preview: Tolar Rattlers vs. Italy Gladiators
The Tolar Rattlers will take on the Italy Gladiators at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Tolar is looking to tack on another W to their 11-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Tolar extended their postseason success on Thursday against Cayuga. They didn't even let the Wildcats onto the board and left with a 60-0 win. The result was nothing new for Tolar, who have now won 11 matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
Tolar's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Isaac Blessing, who threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and Garrison Nation, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Nation's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Peyton Brown was in the mix too, providing Tolar with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Italy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by De Leon on the road to the tune of 55-19. The win made it back-to-back wins for Italy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Italy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gared Wood, who rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Dredrick Owens was another major influence, as he rushed for 121 yards and ran in a TD.
Their wins bumped Tolar to 11-1 and Cayuga to 7-5.
