Softball Recap: Wilder Wildcats vs. Rimrock Raiders
Wilder's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rimrock Raiders with a sharp 21-5 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
N. Escutia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, M. Longest was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was A. Scott, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Wilder was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory got Wilder back to even at 5-5. As for Rimrock, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
