Basketball Recap: William Blount Takes a Loss

William Blount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Maryville Red Rebels. The Governors lost against the Red Rebels in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 51-19 score last time.

William Blount's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Maryville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

William Blount will head out on the road to square off against McMinn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McMinn Central will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something William Blount surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maryville, they will host West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
