Cascades recap November 5, 2013

Grass Lake led Cascades in scoring this week by notching 31 points on Manchester. Drew Plensdorf ran for 128 yards during the win.

The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,738 from 4,274. The improvement was the result of a 31-10 victory over the Flying Dutchmen last week.

Plensdorf made the biggest impact on defense this week as Grass Lake bested Manchester. The 5-foot-11 senior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.

Drew Dowding was the best receiver in the league this week as Michigan Center fell to Constantine. Dowding racked up 6 receptions for 89 yards. Tyler Holmes helped Michigan Center's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 29 yards.

The Cardinals' Dylan Zaborowski and Trevor Frizzell have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Zaborowski has thrown for 1,299 yards this season, while Frizzell has 12 catches for 383 yards. Jack Hatt from Napoleon leads the league in rushing with 1,208 yards.

Randy Cole's team's Plensdorf needs only 20 yards against Clinton next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Plensdorf has rushed for 980 yards on 155 carries so far this year.

Caleb Sabo broke off the longest rushing play in Cascades this week with a 63-yard run against Wes Gall's team. Sabo finished the game with 91 yards on the ground as the Warriors bested the Flying Dutchmen.
