Basketball Recap: Mamou Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pine Prairie on Friday, Mamou came back down to earth. The Mamou Demons fell 36-24 to the Ville Platte Bulldogs on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-32 last Friday.

Ville Platte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janiah Leday, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Bri'Telah Freeman, who had ten points.

Mamou's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ville Platte, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Mamou didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-30 loss against Jennings on the 9th. Ville Platte has also already played their next contest, a 62-36 defeat against Oakdale on the 10th.
