Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edna). They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Rice Consolidated Raiders on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cowboys in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won seven in a row.

Brady Peters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has become a key player for Edna: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-14 otherwise. Peters was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Weston Howard, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trevor Floyd, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Edna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Edna's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Rice Consolidated, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.

As of now, neither Edna nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
