Basketball Recap: Lyman Hall Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Haven last Thursday, Lyman Hall came back down to earth. The Lyman Hall Trojans lost to the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils on the road by a 54-38 margin on Monday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Coginchaug Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Farr, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Farr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shayla Vazquez, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points.

Lyman Hall's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for Coginchaug Regional, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Lyman Hall will face off against Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coginchaug Regional, they will square off against Hale Ray at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
