Softball Recap: Muleshoe Beats Littlefield for Their 11th Straight Victory

Muleshoe had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Littlefield Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Melanie Martens, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Addilene Blanco was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Muleshoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .558 or higher in three consecutive games.

Muleshoe's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Littlefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.
