Basketball Game Preview: Peekskill Red Devils vs. Poughkeepsie Pioneers

For the first time this season, Peekskill will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Poughkeepsie Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Peekskill is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on East Ramapo [Ramapo/Spring Valley] with a sharp 60-40 victory on Saturday. The Red Devils not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since January 27th (when they won 54-32).

Meanwhile, Poughkeepsie took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against Port Chester as they made off with a 65-44 win. The score was all tied up 30-30 at the break, but the Pioneers were the (much) better team in the second half.

Peekskill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Poughkeepsie, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Peekskill couldn't quite get it done against Poughkeepsie in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 as they fell 38-29. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
