Soccer Game Preview: Eastlake vs. Coronado

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eastlake face off against the Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Eastlake who was credited with the victory on Tuesday. Eastlake got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Pebble Hills' four.

Coronado fell victim to Socorro and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Coronado, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Everything went Eastlake's way against Coronado in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Eastlake made off with a 7-0 victory. Will Eastlake repeat their success, or does Coronado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
