Recap: McNair Eagles vs. Chavez Titans
The McNair Eagles entered their tilt with the Chavez Titans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. McNair narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Chavez 35-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McNair to victory, but perhaps none more so than skyler bell, who threw for 431 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.1% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Waters, who picked up 189 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Chavez's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eugene Yarbrough, who picked up 116 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Yarbrough's longest reception was for an incredible 97 yards. Another player making a difference was Lamontae Barlow, who threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns.
McNair's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Chavez, Stagg, and Franklin. As for Chavez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.
McNair will head out on the road to face off against Bear Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Chavez, they will be playing at home against Stagg at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
