Volleyball Recap: Heritage Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rancho Verde, Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Citrus Hill Hawks 3-2.

Heritage took Citrus Hill into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-25, 19-17.

Joshua-Marcus Dillard was the offensive standout of the match as he had 16 assists and 12 digs. Those 16 assists gave him a new career-high. Aron Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

When it comes to explaining why Citrus Hill lost, don't look at Elvin Vargas. Despite the final result, he had 19 digs and two assists.

Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Citrus Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Heritage has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lakeside on the 18th. As for Citrus Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bloomington on the 16th.
