Basketball Recap: Robinson Comes Up Short

Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spoto Spartans. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Robinson lost, don't look at Kevin Hackett. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points and six rebounds. Jaden Behel was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Robinson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Spoto, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

Robinson will challenge Sickles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spoto, they are taking a road trip to square off against Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Spoto is facing Brandon at the right time seeing as Brandon is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
